Fellow coffee grower and collaborator, Mr. Aki Yamagishi, has graciously provided permission to share his block stumping experiences on his farm over a period of two years. Mr. Yamagishi's document includes some data for yield, grading, CBB levels, and information about spraying, fertilization, etc.
While I am sharing this document with you, these are Mr. Yamagishi's words, data and observations. Block stumping is a pruning method that can help growers manage CBB and CLR, along with other field sanitation and management techniques. However, like other pruning methods, there are pros and cons to block stump pruning.
