Bird Damage to Berries

Berry damage caused by birds is typically negligible. However, be aware that feces or poop from birds and other vertebrate and invertebrate species may carry diseases such as salmonella and E.coli. Cover any and all wounds before picking and conducting farm tasks where you may be exposed to potential diseases. Properly discard berries with feces or poop. Do not touch your eyes, ears, or mouth and wash your hands and other susceptible body parts with antibacterial soap and clean water.
