UH-CTAHR welcomes you to participate in a coffee pruning and leaf and soil sampling demonstration field day event held at the Kona Research Station in Kainaliu. The goal of this event is for growers to learn about methods of coffee pruning, proper leaf and soil sampling procedures, and to tour an exploratory trial of different pruning techniques.
AGENDA
During the field day, participants will be provided a demonstration of the Kona-style and stump-pruning (with nurse vertical) techniques and then will be able to walk through the pruning trial. Trees in the trial were first pruned on Feb. 13, 2017. The first comparative harvest took place in the 2018-2019 season and second harvest in 2019-2020. This event is co-sponsored by UH-CTAHR and USDA. The pruning trial was funded by HDOA. Speakers include: Dr. Stuart T. Nakamoto, Andrea Kawabata and Matt Miyahira of CTAHR. |
If you register and are unable to make the workshop, please contact Matt at 808-322-0164 or Andrea at [email protected] as soon as possible. There may be a wait list and we would like to provide someone else with the opportunity to attend.
