UH-CTAHR welcomes you to participate in a coffee pruning workshop and field day event held at the Kona Cooperative Extension and Research Station in Kainaliu. The goal of this event is for growers to learn about methods of coffee pruning as well as learn about an exploratory trial of different pruning techniques.
During the field tour, participants will be provided a demonstration of the Kona-style and stump-pruning (with nurse vertical) techniques and then will be able to walk through the pruning trial. Trees in the trial were first pruned on Feb. 13, 2017 and the first comparative harvest took place in the 2018-2019 season.
This event is sponsored by UH-CTAHR, USDA and HDOA.
Speakers include: Dr. Stuart T. Nakamoto, Andrea Kawabata and Matt Miyahira of CTAHR, and
Dr. Tracie Matsumoto of USDA ARS DKI PBARC (tentative)
If you register and are unable to make the workshop, please contact Gina at 808-322-4892 or Andrea at email@example.com as soon as possible. There may be a wait list and we would like to provide someone else with the opportunity to attend.
