CTAHR’s Cooperative Extension, USDA ARS’s DKI Pacific Basin Agricultural Research Center and the Hawaii Department of Agriculture welcomes you to an exploratory trial of four different coffee pruning techniques.
The objective of the trial is to compare these methods for yield, labor requirements, harvesting considerations and impact on CBB management.
During this field day, participants will watch a demonstration of different pruning techniques and then will be able to tour and walk through the pruning trial. Trees in the trial were pruned on Feb. 13, 2017. The first comparative harvest will take place in the 2018-2019 season.
Speakers include: Dr. Stuart T. Nakamoto and Andrea Kawabata of CTAHR, and Dr. Tracie Matsumoto of USDA ARS DKI PBARC
